“Women are paid 25% less than men, for the exact same fucking work.”
“I shouldn’t need a penis to get paid!”
Our virgin ears! Kidding. Like a lot. What happens when you get a group of girls ages 6 to 13, dress them up in “princess” costumes and have them swear in front of the camera to make a point about sexism in society? A super shocking and overly pink’d out set of young ladies making us blush, not just by dropping F-bombs left and right, but by driving home this very important and obvious message asking:
“What is more offensive? A little girl saying ‘fuck’ or the fucking unequal and sexist way society treats girls and women?”
The video comes from the people at FCKH8 and is part of their T-shirt fundraiser where $5 of each $15 shirt sold will go to benefit anti-sexism organizations and projects.
While some people have been offended by the effing princesses (which was exactly the purpose) the clip’s producer Mike Kon defends the use of the F-word:
Some adults may be uncomfortable with how these little girls are using a bad word for a good cause. It is shocking what they are saying, but the real shock is that women are still paid less than men for the same work in 2014, not the use of the F-word.
Curses aren’t the only shock-worthy bit. At one moment in the clip, the girls collectively say that 1 in 5 women will be sexually assaulted or raped and then proceed to ask: “Which one of us will it be?” Well, shit.
