We love this! Being “American Horror Story” fans we can’t resist getting excited about all the latest announcements for the upcoming season. Hearing that Jyoti Amge will be joining the cast of “AHS: Freak Show” has been one of the highlights. Producer Ryan Murphy announced via Twitter earlier today that Amge, who holds the Guinness Book of World Records title for “world’s smallest woman” is the newest cast member joining Michelle Lange, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Gabourey Sidibe, Frances Conroy, and another newbie to the series, Michael Chiklis.
It was announced earlier this week that Patti LaBelle (!!) will also guest star on the show that will be set in the 1950s with the storyline revolving around America’s last freak show. She may be typecast in this particular show for being a unique human being, but it would be wonderful to see this open the doors for other small female actors, and echo Peter Dinklage’s success.
Amge, who is 20 years old, was born with a genetic disorder called Achondroplasia, is only 2′ 0.6″ tall. You may have caught the exuberant young woman in the 2009 documentary Body Shock: Two Foot High Teen. That’s where we fell in love with her lively spirit and sweet nature. We can’t wait to see her on the screen and in character alongside the legendary Jessica Lange. See the costars mushing it up above.
The new season is slated to premiere in October.
