Reese Witherspoon Gets ‘Wild’ In New Film Based on Cheryl Strayed Memoir

There’s already Oscar buzz around Reese Witherspoon’s performance in “Wild,” a film directed by Jean-Marc Vallée (“Dallas Buyer’s Club”) and based off of Cheryl Strayed’s popular memoir of the same name. Due out in limited release December 5th, “Wild” takes Witherspoon/Strayed on an adventurous journey through loss, reckless actions, heroin addiction, and hiking over a thousand miles of the Pacific Crest Trail, by herself. Needless to say it’s a little heavy and a little dark, and we can’t wait.

“I’m so honored to share with you the brand-new trailer for ‪#‎WildMovie‬ today!! I play Cheryl Strayed & I warn ya, it’s called #‎wild‬ for a reason…” Lady Reese said via facebook yesterday.

With screenwriter Nick Hornby, and fellow castmates including Gaby Hoffman, Laura Dern, and Thomas Sadoski, we’re looking forward to the wild delivery.

Check out the just released trailer below.

Via Fox Searchlight: “WILD powerfully captures the terrors and pleasures of one young woman forging ahead against all odds on a journey that maddens, strengthens, and ultimately heals her.”
