Letter From the Editor: Issue 04 – Women and HerStories

Hello Salties!

Spring has made her appearance, and while she seems to be hiding in some parts of the nation, she’s at least dazzled my hometown, Portland, Oregon, with her presence. Which basically means she arrived bearing gifts of sunshine and cherry blossoms, then quickly snatched it all away to blast us with rain as though it were all some sort of joke. Ever the cynic, I knew better than to fall for her tricks and count on this rain lasting well until June. Portlandia is real, folks.

In other news, I’ve been in a bit of a book-reading craze of late, so you’ll notice some of my links refer to women in literature, be they the characters or the writers. The hashtag #ReadWomen2014 has blown up the literary world, and it’s been a great way to shine the light on women’s stories.

I’ll leave you to it, and whether you have sun or rain, after browsing these links, maybe you’ll cozy up with some new female authors. Or perhaps you’ll be inspired to write your own stories?
